Does God Still Have An Ace Up His Sleeve?

This has been an interesting week, hasn’t it? The election was “certified” by the congress over the objection of some well-meaning patriots, the capitol building was breached by what seems to be Antifa and BLM infiltrators in the peaceful protest of pro-Trump demonstrators, leading conservative voices – including the president – were locked out, and suspended from, social media outlets, and a whole raft of other things.

Has it begun? Has the left wing started to take this nation to socialism and shut down all dissent, like China does? Is God allowing this nation to be so debased, that He allows it to live in its own lustful stink?

In Romans 1:28-32, the Apostle Paul has a lot to tell us what God does when He’s fed up:

And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Though they know God’s righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.

Is that where we are? Or does God have an ace up His sleeve? Is He going to show up like Jesus did after Lazarus was dead four days?

Why did Jesus wait so long to show up?

God often has to delay His work in us in order to accomplish something for His purposes that can be achieved only in the delay. Jesus had to let Lazarus die in order for the miracle that was about to take place to have its full effect. If Jesus had simply healed a sick man, the impact of the miracle would not have been as newsworthy as resurrecting a man who had been dead for four days. This is Jesus’ greatest “public relations act” of His whole ministry. What many do not realize is that the key to the whole story is in the next chapter.

Many people, because they had heard that He had given this miraculous sign, went out to meet Him. So the Pharisees said to one another, “See, this is getting us nowhere. Look how the whole world has gone after Him!” (John 12:18-19)

He waited simply to show God’s awesome power – to show that without a shadow of a doubt, that He’s God and that He’s sovereign.

We pray that God shows up in a huge way before January 20th – but if He doesn’t, that doesn’t mean that He won’t show up at all.

Yes, we know that a Harris-Biden administration — and yes, I purposely said it that way, as we all know who will be running the show — will be as evil as Ahab and Jezebel (see my post here regarding the similarities). God used Elijah mightily to show Ahab and Jezebel, that they were not as sovereign as they thought they were.

It could be that God sends Jesus to take His children home – and brings on the Tribulation. That would be God moving in a mighty way — imagine, about a billion people out of seven, suddenly disappearing from the face of the earth. Children of unsaved adults disappearing – how desperate those parents will be!

It could be that God pulls off a Red Sea type miracle before the 20th, to show His miraculous power, and keeps Harris and Biden from being inaugurated.

Hey, God’s is sovereign – He can do whatever He wants.

Unfortunately, as I’ve been saying, I truly believe that God’s fed up with us – including many of His churches.  As I wrote in a short post yesterday:

God’s sick of it, and He’s ready to weigh in – and like any good parent, He will deploy discipline and judgment.

He gave us four years to get things right – and we didn’t. Now God needs to intervene – and there’s nothing we can do to stop it – unless this nation fundamentally repents, and changes.

I don’t see that happening without a “divine butt whooping”… it’s coming under Biden.

Every administration, from Lyndon Johnson to Barry Obama – and this includes Reagan and both Bushes, was wrought with scandal and focused on making government more unaccountable. They didn’t recognize that it was their paymasters – the American people – that they were representing.

None of them, including Donald Trump, really relied on God in their decision making. If they did, then we, as a nation would not still be celebrating homosexuality, allowing for same sex marriage, and we’d never have permitted the abhorrent practice of transsexuals.

We would have defined marriage between a man and a woman, and somehow done something about shaming men and women sleeping and living together without benefit of marriage and other garbage.

Folks, sin is sin is sin – God makes no distinction between sins – it’s all punishable by death. We criminalize other things in the ten commandments – but not others?

People, God’s sick and tired of unborn babies – sixty-six million of them since 1973 – being murdered in the womb, literally torn limb from limb, and sucked out like the dinner garbage.

He’s sick and tired of having His name trod underfoot!

The writer of Hebrews put it bluntly:

For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries. Anyone who has set aside the law of Moses dies without mercy on the evidence of two or three witnesses. How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one who has trampled underfoot the Son of God, and has profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has outraged the Spirit of grace? For we know him who said, “Vengeance is mine; I will repay.” And again, “The Lord will judge his people.” It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. (Hebrews 10:26-31)

A lot of what this nation stands for today – is sinful, and until the government changes its laws, customs and ways – it’s sinning deliberately. The leaders of this nation, at its founding – knew the truth. So do the leaders of today. The difference is that in 1776, those leaders put God and the people first, in 2021, those leaders put themselves and power first – they’re drunk with it.

Verse 29 asks, “How much more punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one who has trampled underfoot, the Son of God, and has profaned the blood if the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has outraged the Spirit of grace?” 

Well, people – you’re about to see it.

Does God have an ace up His sleeve?  He could – we don’t know. As I said, He can do whatever He wants – He’s God, we’re not.

All I know is that if Joe Biden and Kamala Harris were as good Catholics as they said they were – they wouldn’t be advocating for – and eventually pulling – the things they are, such as abortion up to, and in some cases, after birth. They know nothing of the Christian faith – and should be excommunicated from their respective churches.

No pastor, church elder or any other believer should have anything to do with them – and if they do, I have to really question their salvation. Any believer who would advocate for the things like abortion on demand, men competing in women’s sports, or men using women’s facilities – denying God-given gender, is no believer.

“But it’s about the ‘free stuff'” – come on – 2 Thessalonians 3:10 addresses that:

For even when we were with you, we would give you this command: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat.

We had the biggest job creation in history under President Trump – all people, regardless of race, ethnicity or gender. Everyone who wanted a job – could get one. Then China unleashed the China virus on the world. If they had shut down their airport in Wuhan, it could have been contained, but they continued allowing international flights to leave Wuhan – it then got to other Eurasian countries such as India and Italy – and spread from there. If China really had the best interest of mankind in mind – they would have taken stronger measures to contain it. They didn’t – and this country suffered immensely for it.

We can’t afford to bail out everyone. I paid my student debt, I know others who have done so as well. The degrees being put out today are useless and cost a fortune – seriously – US$94,000 for a “Gender Studies” degree? I can save you a lot of money – “If there’s a stem on the apple – it’s a boy, and if not, it’s a girl”. That’s how God made you – your DNA shows this, and there’s nothing you can do to change that.

I’m not giving up on the nation. I believe that the “ace up God’s sleeve” is what He’s going to do for His people. Whether that’s a miracle before January 20th, the Rapture or something else, remains to be seen, but as long as I’ve got breath in this body – I will preach the Gospel of Christ and Him Crucified. Nothing else matters.

If you’re truly saved – you have nothing to fear.

If you’re not truly saved – you have everything to fear. Things may seem okay now, but your future is very bleak. Salvation is free for the asking. Just repent of your sin – ask forgiveness from Jesus – and turn from your wicked ways – ask the Lord to take control of your life and Jesus to be your savior.
