Handling Woke Culture

I was working on my message on doctrine and given the adverse actions against certain companies this past week, I had to put that aside and start fresh.

Look at what happened to Disney, Netflix, Twitter and CNN this past week, and tell me that God doesn’t just turn us over to our own lusts, when given chance after chance after chance to get it right.

Disney’s stock tanked after losing a lucrative agreement with the State of Florida. This will cause Disney to pay property taxes to Orange County, where none were required when it was essentially its own county before losing this agreement.

Netflix stock lost a great deal of its value because of the loss of a great number of subscribers.

Twitter is facing a hostile takeover.

CNN+, the new streaming service is being scrapped after only a month.

What do all of these companies have in common? They’re all what we call “woke”. This is defined lately as a general pejorative for anyone who is or appears to be politically left-leaning.

If we look at Romans chapter 1, starting in verse 18, we see how God deals with people or entities that go against Him.

God is definitely not woke”

For example, if you’re woke, it means that you’re pro-choice and you agree that you feel that abortion should be legal under most, if not all circumstances. God says that abortion is murder, which goes against anything woke.

If you’re woke, you think that anyone can change their gender, or if you’re identifying as female but are actually male, you can change genders at will.

If you’re woke, you believe that two people of the same gender, can have sexual relationships or even marry one another.

If you’re woke, it’s important to teach this garbage to our kids, as young as age two or three.

I’ve talked about Romans chapter 1 before. It’s a step by step guide on how God works to get our attention, and then finally, if He doesn’t get it, turns us over to our own lusts.

Let’s look at Romans 1:18-32:

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.

Here’s the first step – People have been told of God, yet they refuse to believe, preferring the worship of idols instead. Again, they’ve been told, but they didn’t glorify Him. They thought they were wise, but they were fools.

Sound familiar? Let’s continue.

Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

Now Paul addresses Homosexuality – men with men, women with women. Transgenderism can also be included here in that women pretending to be men, and men pretending to be women.

I mean, New Jersey allows transgenders to be housed in a prison that matches their preferred gender. If a man identifies as a woman, they’re housed in a female facility.

Guess what happened recently? A man who identifies as a female was housed in a female prison, impregnated two female inmates. The sex was consensual. It was bound to happen!

And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful: who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.

Now we have government and schools forcing this garbage on our citizens and children.

Look at that list – we see that in all segments of society today – and by this time, God’s had enough.

Not all segments are debased. Florida signed into law forbidding teachers and school districts from teaching this garbage to our kids through the third grade. I would like to see it outlawed myself – it has no place in schools.

Actually, with parents taking a more active role at school board meetings, insisting that this and other nonsense such as equity/critical race theory be taken out of school curriculum, there may be a chance – a slim one as teachers unions are still strong – but God is greater, that there’s a chance that parents will prevail.

God has always wanted us to repent of our sins – He never wanted us to become this debased.

Yet it’s people such as preachers and pastors who call out this behavior who are vilified by the woke crowd.

People who work in business and stand for their Christian beliefs are also constantly vilified. The state of Colorado is one of the largest offenders in the United States – they’ll bring charges against bakeries, photographers or anyone else who decline to do work for same sex weddings.

California will now go after anyone, even across state lines – for preaching a message such as this. This means that California could, if it wanted to, try to arrest me for preaching that there are only two genders,

Canada – our neighbor to the north, has made it virtually impossible to preach this very message in their provinces, lest they be jailed or fined, and retract their message.

This may be the first shots across the bow. God wants us to get it right, and get right with Him. Repent and surrender, give up this woke garbage.

FACTS THAT YOU CANNOT CHANGE…

✅ There’s only TWO genders, assigned by God in utero, not 57 or more, that would be reserved for Heinz ketchup, not genders.

✅ Marriage is between one man and one woman, and monogamous sexual relations are reserved for this marriage.

✅ You cannot change your gender. Once God started making you, in utero, that was coded into your DNA. No amount of surgery changes this.

✅ Stop trying to tell kids that the above is true, that boys can be girls, and girls can be boys. You’re not “following the science”.

✅ Stop filling our kid’s heads with sexual deviant behavior. It’s not your place to teach our kids anything regarding sex, that’s the parent’s domain. Teachers: Stay in your own lane.

I will continue to preach this until my dying day or until Jesus takes us home

We’re all called to spread the gospel – and we’re called to defend our faith and our children against this sort of garbage. Pray on how God will use you to spread the truth.

I know that it won’t be popular to do, nor will you be popular. You will be hated for Jesus’ name sake (Matthew 10:22, 24:9).

What are you willing to give up for Jesus? A little name calling? Your popularity? The loss of your freedom? Your very life? Loss of freedom is happening in Canada and here in the USA, and in countries around the world, just carrying a Bible can get you imprisonment or death.

So, what are you willing to give?

Standing up to the woke mob is nothing, compared to what you will stand up to when government persecution comes into play.

So I ask yet again, what are you willing to give, for Jesus?
