I have a wonderful, Christian doctor – and I had an appointment with him yesterday. He shared with me the topic of their office Bible Study, which I found extremely profound.
If you could spend ten seconds in Hell, how would that affect your life?
My answer was quick, I would want to get more urgent in my evangelism – more than it is now.
You see, you would find the torment, the smell of fire and brimstone, the agony and anguish that people there are going through – and any believer would want to warn others.
It reminds me of the story of Lazarus in Luke 16, starting in verse 19 – and if your Bible isn’t handy, here it is:
“There was a rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and who feasted sumptuously every day. And at his gate was laid a poor man named Lazarus, covered with sores, who desired to be fed with what fell from the rich man’s table. Moreover, even the dogs came and licked his sores. The poor man died and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried, and in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side. And he called out, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus to dip the end of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am in anguish in this flame.’ But Abraham said, ‘Child, remember that you in your lifetime received your good things, and Lazarus in like manner bad things; but now he is comforted here, and you are in anguish. And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, in order that those who would pass from here to you may not be able, and none may cross from there to us.’ And he said, ‘Then I beg you, father, to send him to my father’s house— for I have five brothers—so that he may warn them, lest they also come into this place of torment.’ But Abraham said, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them hear them.’ And he said, ‘No, father Abraham, but if someone goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’ He said to him, ‘If they do not hear Moses and the Prophets, neither will they be convinced if someone should rise from the dead.’” (Luke 16:19-31)
There is no greater example than this parable – where Jesus gives us a glimpse of Hell. There is eternal torment and flame from which you cannot get any reprieve. The rich man was in Hell, and screams, “Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus to dip the end of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am in anguish in this flame.” But the response is given simply in verse 25, “Child, remember that you in your lifetime received your good things, and Lazarus in like manner bad things; but now he is comforted here, and you are in anguish.”
When we’re giving the gospel of Yeshua ha’Mashiach – Jesus, the Messiah and Savior – we’re giving these people a chance to repent, and save themselves from this misery. We’re to evangelize, that’s our job as believers. If we are given the opportunity, and we don’t fulfill it, we’ll be held accountable.
In verses 27 through 31, we see the rich man imploring Abraham to tell his five brothers so that they too, won’t have endure Hell, but Abraham tells him that they have to be led by the Spirit , not from someone from the dead.
We plant seeds – we tell our story, we use our testimony – the best tool you have in your evangelistic toolkit – to tell how God worked in our lives. How we were destined for Hell, until God got hold of us.
It’s the job of the Holy Spirit to convict to salvation.
On the converse side, if you could spend ten seconds in Heaven, how would that affect your testimony?
You would see all of the good things there – the comfort, the peace of being in the presence of Christ, the worship of the King.
In the same parable in Luke 16, we also get a glimpse of Heaven.
It says that Lazarus was comforted and now has all of the good things that he didn’t have when he was alive. This, of course, is a metaphor to show that he was miserable here in the world, but now he wasn’t – but the rich man, who had everything one could want here in this world – was now utterly miserable.
Ten seconds in Heaven would show you the comfort and contentment that believers will experience. You can add that to your witness.
To be honest – I see the end times just around the corner. Current events show Ezekiel 38/39 coming for fruition and getting set up before our very eyes.
Today is Yom Kippur, the holiest day on the Jewish calendar. As a Messianic Jew, I recognize Yom Kippur for what it means to Christians – the final, Great White Throne Judgement.
Starting on Rosh ha’Shanana – the Feast of Trumpets, and continuing ten days unti; Yom Kippur – this period is known as the “Days of Awe”. During this time, Jews are to perform acts of repentance with others they’ve harmed here on earth. Then on Yom Kippur, they spend all day fasting and abstaining of all things pleasurable, and asking God’s forgiveness for sins committed against God.
Well, as I look around this nation, yes, even the world, there’s not a whole lot of repenting going on.
There’s so much corruption in our governments – that to root it out, every single person would need to be fired, and replaced. This goes for the US Congress as well. All 435 House seats, and I believe 33 Senate seats are up for grabs in 2020. Church, it’s time to clean house of those who are harming this nation.
The president needs to start vetting those who he surrounds himself with. There are a few rats in the White House, and they need to be weeded out and tossed out, with security clearances pulled. If that includes the Vice President – and I’ve heard stories – then get rid of him too. If he truly is a believer in the Risen Christ – he needs to repent.
I use that term Repent a lot – but what do I mean by it?
The term is derived from the Hebrew word Teshuvah (teh-shu-VAH), which means “to turn”. Christians constantly refer to 2 Chronicles 7:14, for God to heal our land. There are conditions which need to be met before God will hear from Heaven and heal our land. Let’s look at the text:
…if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
First, the verse is a continuation from verse 13, where God is confirming to Solomon that the Temple he just finished is now a house of prayer – and He was telling Solomon that when the people go astray – and when He allows bad things to happen, to get their attention, that they have a place to come – the Temple.
Second, he lays down the conditions in verse 14, the people must:
Humble themselves – this includes everyone, everywhere. This includes all believers – including pastors and laypeople – everyone. My wife and I have devotional time each day and we’ve been studying A. W. Tozer on Leadership, and today’s is appropriate here.”If this is a fairly accurate view of things, what can we say then when Christian men vie with one another for place and position? What can we answer when we see them hungrily seeking for praise and honor? How can we excuse that passion for publicity which is so glaringly evident among Christian leaders? What about political ambition in Church circles? What about the fevered palm that is stretched out for more and bigger “love offerings”? What about the shameless egotism among Christians? How can we explain the gross man-worship that habitually blows up one and another popular leader to the size of a colossus? What about the obsequious hand kissing of moneyed men by those purporting to be sound preachers of the gospel?
“There is only one answer to these questions; it is simply that in these manifestations we see the world and nothing but the world. No passionate profession of love for ‘souls’ can change evil into good. These are the very sins that crucified Jesus.” (The Pursuit of Man, A. W. Tozer, page 126).
This describes many pastors and leaders today – but also translates into the personal lives of many leaders – not in the church – such as government leaders. All for power and money,
So, we must humble ourselves.
Next, we absolutely must pray – and seek God’s face. I truly believe that Evangelical Christians all over the world, are praying for restoration of our lands. But is praying enough? Is it enough to bring the revival required to turn a nation around?
It’s required – absolutely, but in this prayer, we need to repent of our own sin, and the sins of this nation.
Show God that it sickens you, and that you repent of the wholesale slaughter of almost 63,000,000 babies since 1973, in the US alone! This is Worship to Molech and God hates idol worship – and the murder of innocents.
Show God that you love everyone, but you cannot compromise your faith by condoning same-sex relationship, let alone marriage, or transgenderism. Boys are Boys, Girls are Girls – one has a “stem on the apple” – the other doesn’t, God made male and female to “complement” one another – they fit together – for the reproduction of the species. Anything else is of Satan, and God finds it an abomination. It must be repented of – personally, and as a nation.
We must turn from our wicked ways. THIS — this is Teshuvah. This is where Jesus came up with the phrase “Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad, for the tree is known by its fruit” in Matthew 12:33. We show that we’ve repented by never doing the wrong things again.
– If we’re a thief, we’ve given back what we’ve stolen and vow to never do it again – and show it through your actions.
– If we’re battling sexual sin, we break that sin, whether it be homosexuality, adultery, transgenderism, fornication – whatever, it must be broken, and you must turn from that sinful behavior, and show it through your actions.
– If you’re an unmarried couple (of the opposite sex) living together in a sexual relationship – you must get this right. If you’re committed to each other – get married! If there are children involved – staying unmarried sends a lousy testimony to them – that it’s OK to “test drive” before committing – Get married or break it off! This list is by no means exhaustive – you get the point. In order for God to know you’re serious about repentance, you must TURN FROM YOUR WICKED WAYS.
THEN, AND ONLY THEN – will God hear from heaven, and heal our land.
See much repenting and turning going on in the world today? How about our nation, the United States?
Our president, who I truly believe was elected through an act of God through the prayers of the believers – is being attacked day and night by demonic forces of the opposing party – and even some in his own party – who have no problem sacrificing children at the altar of Moloech (abortion), or legalize and give legitimacy to sexual practices as in the days of Lot (homosexuality).
They’re doing everything possible to destroy this man, because he’s exposing the corruption in government. He’s upsetting the apple cart – and drying up the cash stream that makes politicians rich.
Did you ever stop to think how someone who makes $195,000 a year, has two homes (one in their home district, and one in Washington DC), ends up with a net worth in the millions? Think about that! There is corruption somewhere, and it’s being exposed.
If we want revival, if we want change, it’s up to Evangelical Christians to take back the country we helped found. We were founded on Judeo-Christian principles as laid out in the Old and New Testaments. If you want your land healed – 2 Chronicles 7:14 gives the roadmap – but be prepared to meet all of the conditions laid out.
I’ve been seeing a lot of stuff online by so-called “believers” trashing our president, besmirching his character, denigrating him because of his past.
Scripture I shared in a post yesterday, applies here as well – 1 Corinthians 6:9-11:
Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
Every one of you has a past – so do I. None of us wants our past aired in public – because there’s probably something in there that is very embarrassing, am I right?
I know I am!
None of us deserves salvation! Every one of us deserves to spend eternity in Hell! None of us are “good people” – the prophet Jeremiah writes:
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it? (Jeremiah 17:9)
Every unsaved person on this earth has a deceitful heart and is wicked and evil at our core. Of course, if you are saved by the blood of Jesus Christ, this has been blotted out and have been given a new heart.
A priest can’t give you a new heart, the pope can’t either, baptism – infant or immersion — doesn’t cut it. Confession, praying to saints doesn’t cut it either.
YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN!
This means getting down on your knees – and praying to Almighty God Himself, asking Jesus to come into your heart, and repenting – turning – from your sin, and believing it with everything you have.
A prayer like this:
I’m a sinner, and I need a savior.
I know that the only way to eternal life with You, is through the shed blood of Your Son, Jesus.
I believe that He died for my sins.
I believe that He rose on the third day.
I believe that one day, that He will come again to take us home to Heaven.
Please come into my heart dear Jesus – save me, wash me whiter than snow.
Please forgive my sin – past, present and future.
Live in me, and help me to walk in Your ways.
Thank You for saving me.
In Jesus’ Name,
If you prayed that – or even your own words – with sincerity of heart, that you believe with all of your heart, you’re saved – Welcome to the Family of Believers.
I have it on good authority – including the pastor who was present when our president prayed a prayer similar to this – that means he’s saved!
To those who question his salvation – who are you to question his salvation? You can’t! That’s between him and God. Y’all need to be paying more attention to your own hearts than the salvation of others!
I truly believe the man is saved – and that’s why God is blessing him with the wisdom to run this country, and to outmaneuver his enemies – just as David did, just as Nehemiah did! They’re coming at him – but through God-given wisdom and the strength of God, he’s swatting the enemies away – and will continue to do so.
America – we are enjoying one last taste of blessing, but it could all come to an end very quickly, if we don’t wise up and start doing what is right in God’s eyes. Judgement is just around the corner, and it’s not pretty. You’re getting a taste of it now.
I’ve given you the roadmap to salvation here – you now have no excuse.
I wrote this on Facebook this morning, and I’ve been asked to allow people to share it, so here it is, as a shareable post.
We don’t get saved so that we won’t smoke, or drink, or sleep with people not our spouse, or practice homosexuality – but once we are saved, we won’t WANT to partake of these practices.
Each of these deface our bodies, which after we are saved, are God’s Temple – the Holy Spirit LIVES in there! Do you want Him choking on your smoke? Do you want Him dealing with the effects of the alcohol you drink? Do you want Him grieved at the sin that you’re committing? I think not!
Tozer writes in “Whatever Happened To Worship” the following:
Sometimes evangelical Christians seem to be fuzzy and uncertain about the nature of God and His purposes in creation and redemption. In such instances, the preachers often are to blame. There are still preachers and teachers who say that Christ died so we would not drink and not smoke and not go to the theater.
No wonder people are confused! No wonder they fall into the habit of backsliding when such things are held up as the reason for salvation.
Jesus was born of a virgin, suffered under Pontius Pilate, died on the cross and rose from the grave to make worshipers out of rebels!
Yes, Paul writes in 1 Corinthians, chapter 6,
Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.” (vv. 9-11)
That’s the point – you once did these things, but now that you’ve been washed, sanctified and justified by the blood of Christ, you don’t want to do that anymore!
You were once a rebel – now you’re a worshiper!
So, if you’ve returned to this life, you’re a backslider, and you need to knock it off, with the help of Christ. Because if you don’t, you’re a lousy testimony for Christ, and a crummy example for others
Most believers look at 2 Chronicles 7:14 and think that this verse solves all of our problems. This isn’t true, nor is it biblical.
To understand this verse, we need to look at it in context.
You see, Solomon just finished building the temple and was dedicating it to the Lord Yahveh. All of the people were involved – not just Solomon and the priests – everyone.
Verse 13 is the first part of this sentence, which continues into verse 14. The idea is further solidified in the remainder of the chapter. Let’s look at verses 13 and 14:
When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command the locust to devour the land, or send pestilence among my people, if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
It’s clear that God is telling us that He will send judgement on us when we go astray – but, when He does, there is a remedy – and it consists of several parts:
We must Humble ourselves – we must admit that we’re in the wrong and bring ourselves before the King of Kings in all humility.
We must Pray – and Seek God’s Face in our sin, again, in humility.
We must Turn from our Wicked Ways – this is called Repentance. The word “repent” means “to turn from” – therefore, we must repent of the sin – we must turn from it, denounce it, and ask forgiveness from it.
Then – and only then – will God hear from Heaven, forgive our sin – and heal our land.
So how do we get out of it? I don’t know if that’s possible anymore. Could God have turned His back on us? Let’s look at Romans 1, starting in verse 18 – where we see the steps God takes before He is just fed up – and turns us over to our own sin, and turns His back on the people.
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things. (Romans 1:18-23)
This is the first step – people start looking away from God, and turning to idols. Back in the day – the idols were golden calves, statues of animals, and towers to the false gods Baal and Molech.
Nothings changed today – people are worshiping statues of Buddha, trees, nature, money, possessions – and bowing to false gods such as Allah and Molech.
We are sacrificing our children at the altar of Molech, just as was done in biblical times. This is being done through child ritual sacrifice (and child trafficking) – and through abortion – where over sixty-one million (61,000,000) children have been slaughtered in the name of “Roe v. Wade” here in the USA alone.
Just think of how productive these human beings could have been as contributing members of society – but no, we had to allow mothers to choose to kill their babies.
We as a nation, and as a people, thought we were so smart – but as it says in verse 22. we have become fools. We probably wouldn’t have a Social Security and Medicare problem today, if we had 61,000,000 additional taxpayers in the workforce. But I digress…
Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen. (Romans 1:24-25)
Paul’s indictment here is that by a wretched exchange human beings came to worship and serve “created things rather than the Creator.” They have wholly rid themselves of God by substituting other objects in his place. This should be sufficient to banish the notion that the practice of idolatry is simply using a man-made image or false god in order to worship God. Contemplating this abysmal betrayal, Paul can’t resist an outburst to counteract it. The Creator “is forever praised.” God’s glory remains, even though unacknowledged by many of his creatures. (Expositor’s Bible Commentary [Abridged Edition]: New Testament)
We’ve dishonored ourselves by serving false gods and worshiping idols – it’s that simple!
For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. (Romans 1:26-27)
The next phase, we see today – and it’s “in your face”…
Note that there is a connection between the first and second phases. Given that people have started worshiping their own deities – gods – they were now free to follow their own sinful passions.
Paul is showing the unnatural relations of men with men, women with women. This type of perversion has no counterpart anywhere in the animal kingdom – it’s purely made from human imagination.
And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Though they know God’s righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them. (Romans 1:28-32)
What’s a “debased” (or in some translations, “depraved”) mind? Well, in this case, people just gave up on God, and He gave up on the people.
Think of it this way, it is God’s function to judge, but people have usurped that prerogative in order to sit in judgment on him and dismiss him from their lives.
Look at that list of sins! They’re all around us today – and many of them are prominent in our government!
That last verse – verse 32: Though they know God’s righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them – – we see this in society today! People are given permission to act in this way! Many of our politicians are doing it!
Sexual perversion? Fornication? Adultery? All approved by our leaders – because many of them are doing it! We have a man running for president who is a sodomite – and has married, and sleeps with – another man!
Has God turned His back on us? He sure has a reason to!
Getting back to 2 Chronicles, chapter 7…
“But if you turn aside and forsake my statutes and my commandments that I have set before you, and go and serve other gods and worship them, then I will pluck you up from my land that I have given you, and this house that I have consecrated for my name, I will cast out of my sight, and I will make it a proverb and a byword among all peoples. And at this house, which was exalted, everyone passing by will be astonished and say, ‘Why has the Lord done thus to this land and to this house?’ Then they will say, ‘Because they abandoned the Lord, the God of their fathers who brought them out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods and worshiped them and served them. Therefore he has brought all this disaster on them.’” (2 Chronicles 7:19-22)
Here’s the caveat about the “healing of the land” – if you turn away from the True and Living God – he will take the land away and bring disaster on the people.
So – if there’s any chance – any chance at all that we find favor with God as a nation – and receive future blessings – we need to humble ourselves, and admit that as a people, we have sinned, then we must collectively – as a people – go to God (not Allah, not Buddha, not idols – but the true and living God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob) and seek forgiveness for the sins of the nation. Then we must turn away from these sins, to never repeat them.
I truly believe that we true believers are doing just this. But we see the judgement in states like California, New York and Illinois – with more jurisdictions to come – if people don’t come to their senses!
Repent – for there isn’t much time before Christ comes for His bride (that’s us, His believers, folks) – if you haven’t accepted Christ as your personal savior – today is the day, for you are not promised tomorrow.
Don’t get caught in judgement – repent of your sin – Christ died for your sins – all of them, no matter how bad. You just need to Acknowledge your sin – admit that you are a sinner, then ask Jesus to save you and forgive your sin.
First off, let me ask you a question: What is a Prophet? What is the job of a Prophet?
Miriam Webster defines a prophet as one who foretells future events, a predictor – biblically, this is wrong. They do have one definition that is correct however, and that is “one regarded by a group of followers as the final authoritative revealer of God’s will.”
The prophets in the Bible did one thing – they revealed what God had told them. If the people did what was right, they would be blessed, if they didn’t, they would be cursed and judgement would fall upon them.
How many times do we read in the Bible, that when the people “did what was evil in the sight of the Lord” – stuff happened.
Well folks, as it is today.
The United States has been blessed by God beyond belief in its short history. We were founded on Judeo-Christian principles, we taught God in schools, we had prayer in the classrooms. The nation prospered through the years.
Then we started acting stupid, just like the Israelites in the Bible. We did what was evil in the sight of the Lord.I received a revelation earlier this week – could it be that all of these illegal aliens invading our country’s borders, be a judgement? Could this be like the locusts that invaded Egypt before Pharaoh let the Hebrews out of slavery? I wrote on Facebook, the following:
Just prior to the first Passover in Egypt, there was a judgement of locusts, such consume everything in their paths.
Could it be, that the invasion of illegal immigrants, consuming all sorts of resources – natural and financial – be a judgement of God on the USA? Could these be our locusts?
We deserve this judgement, we deserve worse – Yahveh – the Father – is truly grieved, between the worship of Molech (the killing of the unborn), and as in the days of Noah, eating, drinking and making merry.
It’s time to repent people. We need to repent for ourselves and for the sin of our nation. If you don’t know Yeshua ha’Mashiach – Jesus, the Messiah – as your savior, repent of your sin and ask Him into your life today – you are not promised tomorrow!
This morning, when my wife and I came together in prayer and devotions, I asked the Lord, “if this is true, if we are in indeed in judgement, please confirm it and give me the words to give your people. Use me as your prophet to tell the people to repent, and that You again, may bless this nation.”No sooner than this prayer was concluded, that I was taken to the sixth chapter of Judges, where the hoardes of people of Midian oppress Israel. Let’s look at the text – and see the similarities to today.
The people of Israel did what was evil in the sight of the Lord, and the Lord gave them into the hand of Midian seven years. And the hand of Midian overpowered Israel, and because of Midian the people of Israel made for themselves the dens that are in the mountains and the caves and the strongholds. For whenever the Israelites planted crops, the Midianites and the Amalekites and the people of the East would come up against them. They would encamp against them and devour the produce of the land, as far as Gaza, and leave no sustenance in Israel and no sheep or ox or donkey. For they would come up with their livestock and their tents; they would come like locusts in number—both they and their camels could not be counted—so that they laid waste the land as they came in. And Israel was brought very low because of Midian. And the people of Israel cried out for help to the Lord. (Judges 6:1-6 ESV)
Starting with the very first verse – the people did what was evil in the sight of the Lord – and God judged by giving the nation into the hand of Midian for seven years. Today, we have this evil all around us.
We are worshiping at the altar of Baal and Molech by sacrificing our unborn children through abortion. Over 61,000,000 – that’s 61
million – children sacrificed in the US alone since the passing of Roe v. Wade in 1973. Do you think this is pleasing in God’s sight? I think not!
We are worshiping at the altar of Baal by giving into the lusts of our flesh, by fornicating and committing adultery – leading to that first one many times! God said “Don’t commit adultery” – He meant it!
We are trying to play God by redefining what God gave us in terms of marriage, gender, and procreation.
Hey – it’s OK for men to marry men, and women to marry women. We have a candidate for president who has married another man! How can this man lead morally? He can’t!
Hey – it’s OK to “identify” as another gender – today, I’m a man, tomorrow, I’m a woman. or no gender at all!
Hey – it’s OK to sleep with someone the same gender and share bodily fluids! Power to the Queer! Gay Pride! No – It’s an abomination to the Lord!
Gettting back to the text, For seven years, the hoards of people would invade Israel, and take of their harvest.
Well heck people, we have hoards of people from other nations invading our borders. taking of our resources, bleeding our treasury dry! They’re bringing pestilence and disease to our nation.
Measles – once eradicated, is now an epidemic along the border. This, along with syphilis. dysentery, and other diseases. What’s next, smallpox?
And our government does nothing to combat this – in fact, they celebrate the very sins that God is judging!
Ask any democrat candidate about a sin, they celebrate it!
Abortion: Yes, it must be allowed up to the moment of birth – and even after, if the child isn’t wanted.
Homosexuality: Celebrate the gay lifestyle – allow same sex marriage
Transgenderism: Let boys who “identify” as girls – use the girl’s bathroom facilities – and vice versa.
And all of this is to be celebrated by all – lest you be labelled a bigot, a homophobe, a racist, etc.
All of this is sin!
Back to our text – verse 5: “… they would come up with their livestock and their tents; they would come like locusts in number—both they and their camels could not be counted—so that they laid waste the land as they came in.”
We’re being invaded – just like locusts – aren’t we?
What do we do? We must repent as a nation – for the sins of this nation.
Our leaders must repeal Roe v. Wade – and make abortion illegal!
We, as a nation, must resurrect sodomy law and outlaw homosexuality.
We, as a nation, must stand up to the politically correct crowd and declare that transgenderism is a mental disorder – and never permit boys in girl’s bathroom or girls in boy’s bathrooms.
We must get to the bottom of the corruption in government, root it out.
Then, repent as a nation.
Will it happen? Unfortunately – I don’t think so, but until we repent as a nation – which means to turn from our sin – God will continue to bring judgement on this nation.
Verses 7 and 8: When the people of Israel cried out to the Lord on account of the Midianites, the Lord sent a prophet to the people of Israel. And he said to them, “Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel:…”
This is where I come in – I am your prophet – and I’m telling all of you, “Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel – You must repent as a nation of your sins! You must turn away from the sin of Abortion, Homosexuality and Transgenderism. You must clean house in your government and bring in godly people to bring stability back to this nation.
That’s the job of a prophet. It’s to give God’s Word, and give people a choice – do what’s right and be blessed – or do evil in the sight of the Lord and be judged.
I’ve been quite critical of the sin in this world – and the pastors who haven’t preached against it.
But another sin is cropping up – the lack of respect.
Kids are disrespecting their parents, wives disrespecting husbands, and husbands disrespecting their wives.
I start with kids disrespecting parents because it directly stems from one spouse disrespecting the other. When there is one dominant parent – let’s say, the father, who dominates and disrespects the mother, the kids see this and think it’s permissible to act in the same way.
I’ve seen kids go wild, telling one parent “No!” – and be totally compliant to another parent. This should never be!
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. (Ephesians 6:1)
Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord. (Colossians 3:20)
Note that the Bible says that children are to obey their parents – plural, not just one, and to disregard the other.
What is it today that we allow our kids to get away with this? In my day, disrespecting my mother, for instance would get me a slap across my face with the back of her hand! My mother would never have put up with any disrespect. (My father was out of the picture, and my grandparents were there – and they too, put up with no garbage from any of us).
My mother’s motto? I put the fear of God and the fear of his mother in him!
Our kids shouldn’t be afraid of their parents however, but parents can get the respect due them by showing respect to each other.
Fathers – especially Christian fathers – have this air about them that they’re the boss, and what they say, goes. They misinterpret Ephesians 5:22-33 – they see the part about wives submitting in verses 22-24:
Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands.
Verse 24 makes it clear that wives should be submitting as the Church submits to Christ. But in verse 25, husbands are commanded to love their wives as Christ loved the Church – and gave Himself for her.
Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.
This provides a picture of sacrificial love – a love where the husband would lay his life down for his wife – as Jesus laid His life down for the Church and the Body of Christ.
It continues in verse 28:
In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church, because we are members of his body.
One thing I tell couple in premarital counseling is that “Eve was made from Adam’s rib, she was not made from his foot – the wife is the husband’s helpmate and stands by his side, he never steps on her. Genesis 2:18 confirms this:
ESV: Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.”
KJV: And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help mate for him.
Gentlemen, your wife is not your slave – you are required to help around the house, just as Adam worked his home in the Garden of Eden – with Eve’s help.
Get the picture?
So, stop treating your wife as if she were inferior to you – she isn’t. You are to lead her – and show her by your godly example. You are to lead her in devotions, in prayer. My wife and I do this every morning – even when we’re feeling poorly.
Wives, I’m not letting you off the hook either! Your job is to be that helpmate to your husband. Does that mean you have to do his every whim and be at his beck and call? Absolutely not!
This does mean that housework should be shared – and if he doesn’t now how to use a washing machine – or sort laundry – you teach him!
Let me give you a little picture into the life of my wife and I. I consider myself the priest of my home. I am the spiritual leader. Every morning, my wife and I have devotions together, then prayer. She’s the intercessor between us – her voice is better than mine, so she intercedes for family, friends, those who are in need of salvation, the nation, leaders. It’s a time where the Holy Spirit comes in and fills us.
Now gentlemen – I have Parkinson’s Disease, a brain stem injury from a concussion, which means that my mobility is severely impaired, my voice is rather low, and that my thoughts and speech are not in synchronization very well – my thoughts run faster than my mouth can talk. My wife has been extremely helpful here! Why? Because she’s my helpmate. She understands that I need help.
Does that mean that I sit around and do nothing? Absolutely not!
I do what my abilities allow. If my fingers and hands are working well together, and standing is not posing a problem – I cook meals, because I love to do it. If I am able, I will fold laundry and run a vacuum. Wherever I can help, and am able to do so, I help.
Paying bills? We do that together most of the time. Why? So we both know where money is going, and we hold each other accountable. Neither spends over $50 without talking to the other – we save on bounced check fees that way.
If more couples worked together, instead of butting heads on “who is more important” – or a family organizational chart of “who reports to whom” – there would be less divorce and disagreements in the marriage. Disagreements are inevitable – but working them out like adults without yelling or putting the other down is the godly way to settle these things.
And never – and I mean never – put your spouse down or argue in front of your kids. That’s how they learn that behavior.
Putting your spouse down in front of your kids tells them that it’s alright for them to do the same – and it’s not. You are to have each other’s backs when it comes to kids disrespecting a parent – that behavior is to be corrected immediately by both parents.
Arguing in front of your kids doesn’t teach them the proper way to handle conflict. All they see is fighting and arguing, instead of proper conflict resolution techniques. Deuteronomy 6:7 is explicit:
You shall teach them [the commandments] diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.
Parents, you are to teach your children, and be an example to them. If you’re an overbearing tyrant – what will your kids pick up? If you abuse your spouse in any way, what are your kids learning?
It’s no wonder we have kids acting out today – parents are “out to lunch” for the most part.
But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. Matthew 18:6 KJV
I don’t care your political affiliation. I don’t care if you’re black, white, yellow, red, or purple with pink polka dots. I don’t care if you’re straight or gay. I don’t care if you’re a man or a woman…
IF YOU THINK THE TAKING OF AN INNOCENT LIFE THROUGH INTENTIONAL KILLING IS ACCEPTABLE, YOU NEED TO REALLY LOOK AT YOUR CONSCIENCE!
I yell this because I know that if I’m affected in this way – mourning for the senseless loss of life – then God must really be offended.
The sixth commandment is, translated directly from the Hebrew is shown here – in Hebrew, we say lo teer-TZAK which literally means Not – shall you murder. Hebrew syntax uses the negative before the action, to denote that you shouldn’t do perform the action.
Note also that the commandment isn’t “Thou shall not kill” – it’s “don’t murder” – there’s a difference!
God allows for some killing – for example, in a justifiable war, or for self defense. If someone were to break into my home with intent on harming my family, I would be totally justified to use my 9mm Glock and send this person to meet his or her maker. Likewise, if I’m delivering a sermon in a church, and someone comes in intent on murdering those attending, I would, as the shepherd of the flock, be justified in taking that person out and killing them. That’ not murder. (See my article here on God’s view on Self Defense and Firearms)
The biblical definition of murder is different that Miriam Webster’s. The biblical definition is the intentional taking of a life without justification or with malice. Miriam Webster’s adds the word unlawful – hence, the rub.
Man says that it’s okay to kill a fetus in the womb, because it’s not a person – it’s merely a clump of cells, or it’s not viable – (unable to live outside of the womb). The law hasn’t caught up with the fact that at conception, that life became a separate and distinct life.
It’s not a woman’s right to choose – it’s not her body – it’s the body of another living human being – a person. She – or her doctor – should not have the right to take that life without justification.
Over 60,000,000 lives have been taken since the United States made abortion legal. The argument was to make it “Safe but Rare”…. Well, it may be safer than it was, but it’s certainly not rare.
Over 97% of all abortions performed, were due to what I call “the oops factor” …
Oops, I forgot to take my birth control pill
Oops, we got too passionate, too fast
In other words, men and women couldn’t control themselves.
Actions – have consequences – and abortion should never be the cure for those consequences.
What about rape? Only 6/10 of 1% (0.6%) of all abortions, are due to rape. The life of the mother? 2.8%. I’m sorry – there’s no excuse for abortion on demand as we have in the United States.
Where do I get my statistics? See this site(The Alan Guttmacher Institute studies), where you can see them broken down quite nicely.
And I truly believe that God will have His judgment on those states that continue to allow the wholesale slaughter of our children – the mass sacrifice to Molech – for the sake of convenience.
Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “Again, you shall say to the children of Israel: ‘Whoever of the children of Israel, or of the strangers who [a]dwell in Israel, who gives any of his descendants to Molech, he shall surely be put to death. The people of the land shall stone him with stones. I will set My face against that man, and will [b]cut him off from his people, because he has given some of his descendants to Molech, to defile My sanctuary and profane My holy name. And if the people of the land should in any way [c]hide their eyes from the man, when he gives some of his descendants to Molech, and they do not kill him, then I will set My face against that man and against his family; and I will cut him off from his people, and all who prostitute themselves with him to commit harlotry with Molech.
(Leviticus 20:1-5 NKJV)
God will judge – and now we have states that are legalizing the killing of children up to – and in some case – immediately after birth? God’s going to have His way. You see the penalties laid out in the Bible in Leviticus above.
Do you think that New York, Illinois and California are having fiscal problems, because they’re inept? Do you think that weather conditions in Washington state – and fires in California – are a product of so-called climate change?
No – God’s trying to get the attention of people – and get them to repent!
And unless they do so, and soon – judgment will be coming – and it won’t be pretty.
Yep, that statement will get me listed as a “hater” on the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) website – but I don’t care. I don’t worship the SPLC, the Democrat Party or the LGBTQ community – I worship the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
Does that mean I hate people who identify as such? Absolutely not! If they wish to have a civil discussion with me pertaining to science, and that there are either XX (female) or XY (male) distinctions – then great – let’s have a conversation and allow me to get my point of view across.
Gender is science – as I stated before. You’re either a boy, or a girl. That is science, that is physiology, that is genetics. It’s also scriptural.
Then God said, “Let us [the Triune Godhead, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit] make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
God made you in your mother’s womb.
For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.
My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.
God created everything you see, and to deny this, is to deny creation itself. The tree isn’t an accident, or some random thing that appeared out of thin air. The oceans aren’t an accident either – and neither are you
To decide that “God made a mistake” is a cultural construct intended to be an assault on the Almighty Creator God.
Those who “identify” as transgender have given over to a sort of “personal suicide” – an end to all normal existence. What do I mean by this?
You have completely cut yourself off from reality. You have effectively ended your abilty to have a marriage that is a real marriage, the ability to have a family (to have children), the kind of extreme isolation that is so extreme, that it’s not reversible.
Let’s face it:
Men, once it’s gone – it’s gone forever. There’s no going back
Women, the addition of an “appendage” doesn’t make you a man
And … your DNA will always provide your gender – your chromosomes are either XX or XY – you can’t change that.
Bruce Jenner is a man – and he can’t change that, no matter how much “body work” is done. He will always have an XY Chromosome, which makes him male. It’s that simple. No amount of temper tantrums from him to call him “ma’am” can change that fact.
You see, God is always in control. You can change your outward appearance, but you can’t change the way God made you. You cannot challenge or play God. He will not let you get away with it.
Today, we have an assault on the Judeo-Christian heritage that founded this nation. Like it or not, our constitution, our laws and our heritage – are not based on your feelings, or the fad-du-jour.
Our churches are dead – pastors aren’t bold enough to stand up and denounce this behavior, which is why we have rebellion today. They’re afraid of being labelled as a hater, or a bigot, or a homophobe.
Pastors are supposed to stand up and call out sin of all kinds. But they’re not doing it. The Holy Spirit is trying to work here, but the pastors aren’t listening to the “still small voice” of the Holy Spirit – and since they’re content on preaching that “feel good” message that tickles the ears – their churches are either dying, or will soon do so.
“Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.” (Galatians 6:7)
Paul tells us in the first chapter of Romans about what we see today – and what happens to people who don’t submit to the will of the One True and Living God:
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.
Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.
And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.
Does any of this look at all familiar? This is today people!
This is what’s being taught to our kids as normal!
We, as Christians, should be outraged!
Pastors should be pounding their pulpits!
We are in a time of grace right now – God’s opened a door for us to repent as a people and get things right with Him!
We have a time to plant the seeds of Salvation.
But that door’s going to shut – and soon. I truly believe that the Rapture of the Church is at hand – and when that door shuts, and the true believers are called Home, there’s going to be a bunch of very surprised pastors who will be wondering, “Why, Lord?”
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
You’re being told now – so go, and tell!
Plant those seeds, let the Holy Spirit work in the lives of others.
It’s our jobs as Christians – and God doesn’t wish that anyone go to Hell!
Gave your testimony to someone you didn’t know, in hopes that they too, would find Jesus as their savior?
Planted an “evangelical seed” – and I don’t mean the kind that the prosperity preachers mean – money – I mean the kind where you tell something to someone that gets them thinking of their spiritual future?
Spoken out on issues which are sin in the eyes of God, but legal but hurtful to humanity?
Ouch! It hurts, doesn’t it? If it doesn’t. then you really need to question your faith and salvation – because far too many “Christians” have done none of these basic things.
Do you know, that your testimony is the most valuable tool you have in your evangelistic toolkit? It’s the story of how Christ and the Holy Spirit worked in your life. to bring you to repentance, and acceptance of Christ as your savior.
It’s your story – no one can refute it. No one can tell you that you’re wrong! It also can provide a valuable message to the hearer.
Jesus said, just before He left this earth: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…” – our job is therefore, to “go, and tell” – to evangelize.
One of the best examples of evangelism is found in the fourth chapter of John – the woman from Samaria at the well. The disciples had gone to buy food and left Jesus there alone. Along comes a woman to draw water from the well of Jacob.
Jesus requests a drink.
The Samaritan woman in verse 9 said to him, “How is it that you, a Jew, ask for a drink from me, a woman of Samaria?” You see, Jews had no dealings with Samaritans they would go around Samaria, than to set foot into the country.
Jesus then proceeds to tell her all about the living water that He could provide.
Finally, in verse 15, we find her asking for some of this “living water” – now, Jesus pulls the “repentance card” – in verse 16:
Jesus said to her, “Go, call your husband, and come here.”The woman answered him, “I have no husband.” Jesus said to her, “You are right in saying, ‘I have no husband’;for you have had five husbands, and the one you now have is not your husband. What you have said is true.”
You see, Jesus got her to confess that she wasn’t married, and that He already knew that she’s been married fine previous times, and she was living in sin with number six.
Did He judge her? Nope. He did, however plant the seed as to who He was. After a little theological small talk, in verse 25:
The woman said to him, “I know that Messiah is coming (he who is called Christ). When he comes, he will tell us all things.” Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you am he.”
She knows it now – so what does she do? Verse 28:
So the woman left her water jar and went away into town and said to the people,“Come, see a man who told me all that I ever did. Can this be the Christ?”
Now you have to understand something about this woman – she would be considered a loose woman (to put it mildly) today. She came to the well when all of the other women were gone – but she ran to back, and became the town evangelist! Come, and see a man who told me all that I ever did!
We don’t permit NetFlix in our home – there’s too much material that’s against God’s Word – that glorifies sinful things such as homosexuality, and so forth.
Anyway – both the original God’s Not Dead, and this sequel – show the planting of seeds of faith in the minds of those who don’t believe. In this case a student in a public school – and the persecution of a Christian teacher in that school.
Are you afraid of planting seeds, or sharing your testimony, because you might be teased, bullied or even persecuted? Jesus warned us that this would happen when He told the disciples:
“Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves. Beware of men, for they will deliver you over to courts and flog you in their synagogues, and you will be dragged before governors and kings for my sake, to bear witness before them and the Gentiles. When they deliver you over, do not be anxious how you are to speak or what you are to say, for what you are to say will be given to you in that hour. For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you. Brother will deliver brother over to death, and the father his child, and children will rise against parents and have them put to death, and you will be hated by all for my name’s sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved. When they persecute you in one town, flee to the next, for truly, I say to you, you will not have gone through all the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes. (Matthew 10:16-23)
Verse 22, says it best, “you will be hated by all for my name’s sake.
The name of Jesus packs a punch!
Have you ever seen what a bunch of unbelievers does when the name “Jesus” is mentioned? Try it sometime – the emotions that will be on display are from the pit of Hell itself. You know that Satan himself is in your midst. It’s the best time to start evangelizing – to cast the evil one out!
That leads me to my last point … speaking out on issues you know to be sinful – things that may be legal, but hurtful to humanity.
Yes, so many call that “judging” – that we’re being judgmental. When it comes to sin, we are to judge.
We are not to judge the sinner however, but we’re to call out the sin whenever we see it – whatever it costs us.
Jesus did it to the woman at the well – He called out her sin, but he didn’t judge or condemn her. He did it in the eighth chapter of John with the woman caught in adultery. She was caught red-handed, but he didn’t condemn her. Here’s my short teaching on the subject on judging others.
Again, while it’s true that we’re not to judge the sinner, we are to call out the sin!
How many of you consider abortion, an act of murder?
I do – because God’s word tells us that God knew us in the womb. That means that the baby being carried by the mother is a separate and distinct human being – not just a clump of cells!
Watch this short 4-minute video – and then tell me that abortion isn’t murder.
Yet, we now have states such as New York, Vermont,. New Jersey, Alaska, Colorado, New Hampshire, New Mexicio and Washington DC which have absolutely no restriction on aborrtion.
New York has now also taken “personhood” rights away from the baby – meaning that if the baby is killed during the commission of another crime, the person committing the crime would normally have been charged with the murder of the child – but no longer.
Illinois now wants to become the “place to go” when it comes to abortion. No limits on fetal gestation, no parental consent for minors, no restrictions whatsoever. Murder your baby at any time – even up to birth – for any reason whatsoever.
Are you not appalled by this?
And the federal government tried to pass a bill to ban late term abortions. Catholics have been opposed to, and have spoken out against, abortion for years.
But so-called “good Catholics” such as:
Maria Cantwell of Washington
Susan Collins of Maine
Dick Durbin of Illinois
Kirsten Gillibrand of New York
Tim Kaine of Virginia
Patrick Leahy of Vermont
Ed Markey of Massachusetts
Catherine Cortez Masto of Nevada
Claire McCaskill of Missouri
Bob Menendez of New Jersey
Lisa Murkowski of Alaska
Patty Murray of Washington
Jack Reed of Rhode Island
all voted to allow the type of abortion depicted in the video above.
They should all be excommunicated – but they won’t. They wield too much political power and provide much needed cash to the Vatican – that “Christianity be damned” – they will get away with murder.
If they’re your senators – you should be standing up and publicly rebuking these politicians. And pastors in these states should do all they can to make the issue, a central one in the next election.
Did I condemn these people? No! I didn’t say that these people deserved to be in Hell.
Did I call out their sin? Yes! I would hope that they would repent and change their ways.
Pointing out sin is always done for the purpose of Restoration. Salvation for the non-believer, and Restoration to the Body of Christ for the backslidden believer.
To the woman caught in the act of adultery – Jesus told her to “Go, and sin no more”. There is forgiveness all around when one repents – and turns from their wicked ways. Our pointing out sin is for one reason, and one reason alone – to get that person right with God.
So – are you being real?
Are you doing all you can to “Go, and tell the world” – even if the “world” is your own backyard?
Are you using your testimony, to show how God worked in your life – to lead others to Christ?
