For What Do We Need To Repent?

2 Chronicles 7 was Solomon’s dedication prayer for the new Temple. The Lord answered him by saying , “if My people, who are called by My Name, will humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways…”

If one does a word study from the Hebrew manuscripts, the word for “humble” means to be subdued, be brought down, be low, be under, be brought into subjection; pray, to earnestly get on ones face and seek God’s favor, all the while looking to God for divine guidance, and to “turn from their wicked ways,” to repent of their sins… then, and only then, will God hear from heaven and heal our land.

But what have we to repent for? If you’re a Christian, a heck of a lot.

You see, God’s mighty ticked off at this world, and our nation, for what has been allowed to permeate our society. We Christians have been so quiet and tolerant, that we’ve allowed what would have been seen as abhorrent and disgusting just 50-70 years ago, or even a decade ago.

Let’s look at examples.

Let’s start with the normalization of pedophelia. In California, the Governor signed into law, a bill that decriminalized sodomy between an adult and a minor, if the minor is ten years or less younger than the adult. This means that a 20 year old man can sodomize a 10 year old boy, claim it was consented, and no felony charge, and no sex offender registration requirement. And of course, as California goes, New York will be soon to follow.

Where is the outrage from Christians? Nary a word about this on the news! Where are the marches and “peaceful protests” by everyday Christians? There aren’t any, because everyday Christians haven’t spoken up on this, or any other sin that have permeated into out society.

It started with the “free love” movement and the permissiveness of the sexual revolution. Then came the abortion case – “my body, my choice”. Then homosexuality, then same sex marriage- and that was supposed to be it. Let them marry – it’s who you love that matters.

It then turned into transvestism, then mutilating ones body to change outward gender, then parents permitting (and in some cases, forcing) their children to start the transition to outwardly change their gender – and now, we have pedophiles who want us to think that their perversion is a “condition”.

The Bible says that marriage is between one man and one woman, with the first one between Adam and Eve (Genesis 2:18-24) – not Two men, not two women – one man, one woman. In my book, that settles the issue on the topic of marriage.

Jesus said in Luke 17:2, “It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were cast into the sea than that he should cause one of these little ones to sin.” That goes for parents perverting their children as well!

I feel like the prophet Jeremiah at times. I write stuff here, only to be ridiculed or ignored. If you don’t know about Jeremiah, you should read that book.  For twenty-plus years, he prophesied the destruction of Israel – and they all, the people, the king, the nobles – they laughed at him, scoffed him, and some even got so sick of it, they wanted him dead. They banned him from the Temple and burned his prophetic words (Jeremiah 36), imprisoned him (Jeremiah 37) and had him thrown into a well (Jeremiah 38).

Maybe this is the reason no one speaks up – because they’re afraid of what might be said about them, or what might happen to them.

Well soldier – grow up! When you accepted Jesus Christ into your heart as Lord of your life, and repented of the sin in your life – you enlisted in the army that stands up for righteousness, and calls out the sin in society.

I’ve called out a state legislator who when running for election two years ago, who on the topic of abortion, said that he would “support legislation that keeps Choice the priority and stand against any laws that try to encumber that right.”

That state legislator is a church pastor! His name is Dan Williams, and his church is New Life Church of Christ in Coatesville, Pennsylvania.

He also said that he “supports state funding for Planned Parenthood”

He deserved to be called out – and he deserves to be kicked out of his pulpit. The problem is, he’s a popular pastor in town, and his congregation would go along with pretty much anything he said.

On the subject of same-sex marriage, he says, “No one should be denied the right to marry who they love, and any marriage between two people, regardless of gender, should carry the same rights and privileges.”

Makes me wonder if he’d officiate such a marriage. If not – then he’s being hypocritical. Not to his calling, but to his state paycheck.

All of this was taken directly from his campaign website a couple of years ago! A check of his current, redesigned website has all references to these issues deleted.

Why is that? Maybe because he realizes that he’s wrong – but won’t admit it. Maybe it’s because he doesn’t want to draw the attention of his Christian constituents.

Let’s face it he’s done nothing to further the faith in schools, he’s done nothing to stop abortions or same sex marriages, he’s voted in favor of unisex facilities in schools though. He’s the governor’s lackey on almost every issue. He’ll never take a stand on any issue that agrees with his faith, if it goes against the governor’s narrative.

His church is still closed – while the one I attend is smaller – and open! Way to toe the government line, Dan!

He’s a joke – and everyone who calls themselves a Christian in Pennsylvania’s 74th State Legislative District, should be ending the political career of this hypocrite, and send him back to his church – where his congregation should also, send him packing. He may have done good things, but God comes first, and he’s not fulfilling his first calling – to serve the will of God.

And yeah, he’s a Democrat – but if he were a Republican doing this, I’d still be calling him out – as it’s the Bible which says we don’t sacrifice children to Molech, and that homosexuality is a sin. We serve a higher master – Yahveh, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob – and Jesus Christ is our Lord!

Why aren’t God’s people doing the same?

Separation of Church and State? There’s no such thing in our constitution! It says that there congress shall make no law establishing religion. This does not keep the faithful from participating in the political process and the town square. It means that the congress cannot establish a “national church” – such as the Church of England. This was what the founders of our nation did not want.

No politician, no lawyer, nobody – can keep you, me or anyone else in the church from criticizing our government, especially when its doing wrong morally and legally.

The “Freedom From Religion Foundation” tries, but in almost every case that’s actually tried in court – and is tried against the constitution “as written” – they lose. Cities, States, School Districts will just capitulate, rather than spend the money to litigate morality.

The Liberty Council, The American Center for Law and Justice, and numerous other firms, have litigated successfully against this atheist and godless “foundation” – whose very name perverts our first amendment.

But what does the Bible say on the subject?

The New Testament leaves no doubt that Christians are required to obey the government and every law handed down by that government. 1 Peter 2:13-14 says, “Be subject for the Lord’s sake to every human institution, whether it be to the emperor as supreme, or to governors as sent by him to punish those who do evil and to praise those who do good.”  Romans 13:1-2 says, “Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment.”

The only exception is when the government orders something which would cause the Christian to disobey the clear commands of God.

When obedience to the law would cause a Christian to disobey a clear command of the Bible then the Christian is obligated to obey the higher law- God’s command. Acts 5:29 clearly states “But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men.”

During the spread of COVID-19 many states forbade all gatherings, including church services. Yet, the Bible clearly commands Christians to not forsake the assembling together with other believers. Many churches continued to gather despite the prohibitions because the laws of the land contradicted God’s commands.

Why is it that we don’t rise up like this in cases of Same Sex Marriage, Unisex bathroom and shower facilities in schools, and so forth?

This nation was founded on Judeo-Christian principles first outlined in the Bible, and Magna Carta (also founded on biblical principles). We have so lost our way as a nation!

I write this in the eve of Rosh Ha’Shana – the Feast of Trumpets. As a Messianic Jew, I still believe that the feasts and celebrations are to be celebrated today, as they have Messianic meaning behind them.

In Judaism, Rosh Ha’Shana starts the ten-day period of personal repentance known as the Days of Awe. It culminates on Yom Kippur. the day of repentance – the holiest day on the Jewish calendar. This is the day that the priest would go into the Temple, and repent for the nation of Israel.

For Christians, these two days represent the Rapture of the Church, and the Bemah Seat of Christ.

Feast of Trumpets is described in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17:

For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.

That’s the Rapture, or the “snatching up” – of the Church – the end of the church age, and the start of the Tribulation period.

The prophetic signs are all around us. Israel became an independent nation again in 1948, and Jersalem – God’s Holy City – has been reclaimed. Jews have been returning to Israel in record numbers under the “Right of Return” law, and Arab-Israeli peace accords are being drafted very fast – in just two weeks, the UAE and Bahrain signed accords – and Israeli news is signalling that Oman and Saudi Arabia may be coming soon.

At some point the Palestinian State will have to capitulate, or risk losing the millions, and possibly billions of dollars that these nations provide in terms of support – not to mention, risking political isolation.

These are the remaining prophecies that are to be fulfilled, and set the stage for the Rapture – and they are being fulfilled quickly.

This is why we need to start repenting – and evangelizing. We pray every morning for family and friends – to be sure of their salvation. The only thing you can take with you, is your family and friends.

Do we really believe that hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, diseases such as AIDS and COVID-19 are flukes – or sillier yet, “climate change”?

No people, they are divine judgments of an angry God who’s trying to get the attention of His people, and more are on the way, if we don’t repent – now!

In doing some research, I came across a website from God’s Kingdom Ministries, and on it, was a National Prayer of Repentance that I thought was fantastic.  I post it here in its entirety, and suggest that we all use it as a base for our own prayer of repentance for this nation.

Heavenly Father, we come before Your presence in the name of Jesus and under His blood, thanking you and praising you for Your righteous judgments. We acknowledge You alone as the King of Kings and Jesus Christ as the Heir of all things to whom we are submitted.

Alas, O Lord, the great and awesome God, who keeps His covenant and lovingkindness for those who love Him and keep His commandments, we have sinned, committed iniquity, acted wickedly, and rebelled, even turning aside from Your commandments and ordinances. Moreover, we have not listened to Your servants the prophets, nor have our princes, our fathers, and all the people of the land.

Open shame belongs to us, O Lord. We have violated Your right to rule that which You alone created. So we acknowledge that You alone have the right to show compassion and forgiveness, for we have rebelled against You and have not obeyed Your voice, nor have we walked in Your teachings which You set before us through Your servants, the prophets.

Therefore You have kept calamity and plague in store and have brought it on us; for You are righteous with respect to all that You have done, but we have not obeyed Your voice. Turn our hearts and open the eyes of Your people, so that they may see the evil that they have done and repent with us. Let us move into a new direction in accordance with Your laws and Your nature. Let us no longer be a reproach to all those around us.

O Lord, in accordance with all Your righteous acts, let now Your anger and Your wrath turn away from Your people. Heavenly Father, listen to the prayers of Your servants and their supplications, and for Your sake, let Your face shine upon our faces, even as it shined in the face of Moses and Jesus. Incline Your ear and heart toward us, for we are not presenting our prayer on account of any merits of our own, but on account of Your great compassion.

Thank-you for hearing our prayer and for answering according to your great Love for us, for we pray in the name and nature of Jesus Christ. Amen.

What’s it gonna be?

Do we, as Christians, continue to put up with the sinfulness being tolerated and infiltrating society, or do we band together and demand change – repentance – to turn from our wicked and evil ways?

Do we, as those who fear God, look at those who don’t – including some who call themselves Christians, but who are “Christians in name only” – and tell them that they must bring morality back into our society?

Psalm 111:10 says “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
all those who practice it have a good understanding.
His praise endures forever!”

It’s time we get wise – Fear God, for He’s held His hand back for long enough. It’s not wise to tempt God’s patience on such matters. You never know what’s coming next.

  2. blessings to you and grace, the war always begins in the spiritual realm, my prayer for you is that your spiritual eyes will be opened and that you hear from heaven in regards of how to prayer and bring down the strong holds over your nation (Australian here). We need to be pleading the blood of the Lamb over the sins that we know about that others are comiting so that they cannot build up in an even greater way – the keys to the kingdom are in the Amplified bible expanded to mean what is illegal in heaven, can be declared illegal on earth and then asked to be removed. If you ask for the gift of discernment, seeing in the spirit, you can watch principalities and powers be brought down and removed. I have a number of enemies in California and have removed a number of these, John Ramirez has some great tips about overcoming witchcraft on Youtube. For the bible says our fight is not against flesh and blood but against the spirits that belong to these people who are promoted by incantations to be principalities and powers, our fight is against those who have sold their souls to witchcraft. When the world was created all authority was given to people, all people. ALL covenants like the ones that have given authority to peoples spirits over regions are Forbidden in heaven, you can declare that they be forbidden on earth for all power belongs to God (Ps 62) Fast, a Daniel fast, give up something for 3 weeks.
