No one – no governmental authority, no news organization, no organization such as the Southern Poverty Law Center, or the ACLU, or anyone else – will silence me or shut this church down!
I love every person, I don’t care the color of your skin, your nationality, whether you’re male or female. I will, however, call out sinful behaviors, in the hope of either getting you saved, or getting you walking right with Christ.
Hey, I’m no saint – I’ve had my share of sin in my life, so have you, and everyone else on this planet. The difference, however, is that I’ve repented for my sin, meaning that I’ve asked God to forgive me through the blood of Christ, trusted and accepted Him as my Savior, and I’ve turned away from that sin. I am no longer the person I was.
It puts me in a position that if I see sin, I can call the behavior out, and call it for what it is – sin – and abominable to the Living God. Every born again Christian has that responsibility. We love people into Heaven, and to not call out the sin, is to hate them right into the pit of Hell and eternal torment.
Yet, I’m called a homophobe for my stance on homosexuality, transphobic for my stance on the transgender craziness, a xenophobe because of my belief in my faith of one God in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit, a sexist because of my pro-life stance and my stance again women in church leadership, and a racist for any of a number of reasons, because if any of the other designations don’t fit, you’re a racist.
Every one of my – and this church’s – stances – can be backed up by scripture, and the contextual reading of it. Yet, I “get ripped a new one” by those who read my messages, which are freely searchable by keyword on Google. Every day, someone finds something I wrote via Google, Bing, AOL or other search engine. It shows up in my stats, and I’ll usually get one or two messages, as comments, from people who call themselves “believers”, which are vile and can’t be backed up by scripture. When challenged, they resort to the name calling.
(This is also why I moderate all comments – the language, and the rhetoric used – have no place here.)
What did Jesus say in John 15:18-20?
“If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours.
If you’re a true, born again believer in Jesus Christ, then you too, cannot support or accept sin. It’s your responsibility to share your faith with others – and if you see a brother or sister in Christ in sin, it’s your duty to point it out to them, to bring the errant sheep back into the fold.
That’s not judging, by the way. You’ll hear “stop judging me” or “you can’t judge me” … you can and must judge sin. Your not judging the person, you are judging behavior – sinful behavior. Jesus Himself said in John chapter 7, “Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment.” (7:24)
This is Memorial Day weekend, where we remember our fallen veterans – those who paid the ultimate price for our freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom to assemble – and many other freedoms in our Bill of Rights. These rights extend to preachers and churches as well, and as such, calling out sin, and corrupt politicians is our right and our responsibility. Government has no right to trample on any of these rights, nor will I permit it to trample on ours.
The media are nothing more than agents for the government, specifically liberal government. Conservative government doesn’t want ultimate power, however, liberal government – given the activities of the current government – ultimate power is what’s desired and will be had, by hook or by crook. The media shills for this liberal government in the hopes of gaining favor with the new power brokers.
Liberals will fight to the death for a “woman’s right to choose,” The nine sages sitting on the Supreme Court in 1973, legally sanctioned infanticide by extending privacy laws to abortion. The Bible says different. In Exodus 20:13, God told Moses, “Do not murder” … the Hebrew “lo treh SAH” is direct, “not shall you shall murder”… the word “lo” negates the following imperative statement. The word for murder means to intentionally and callously take a life, without justification. A woman has no the right to kill another human being based on this alone.
In Jeremiah 1:5, the prophet said, The word of the LORD came to me, saying: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” If God knew and formed Jeremiah while he was in the womb, was he a clump of cells, or a human being?
Getting back to the Hebrew, the phrase for “I formed” is “’yetsa RE KA” from the verb “yatsar” – meaning to make or to form, as in pottery. God made Jeremiah, just as God made you and me. His mother, my mother and your mother had no right to murder us – and no other mother has the right to murder their unborn child, while God was forming it, like a fine piece of art.
As for gender – God was just as direct in Genesis 1:27, “So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” The words male and female were specific – and given that God made or formed the child, the gender was assigned by God which makes the 57 genders a moot point. The Bible says there are two, and that settles it. Everything else is either a mental disorder, or someway to get their fifteen minutes of fame – it’s all garbage.
Likewise – God was just as direct with homosexuality and sexual sin in general, Deuteronomy 22:5 says “A woman shall not wear a man’s garment, nor shall a man put on a woman’s cloak, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the LORD your God.” This hits the cross-dressing garbage, and in Leviticus 18:22, “You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.” and Romans 1:26-27, “For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.” This shows that God has a big problem with same-gender sexual relations.
These, and other issues – I will not bend!
I believe in the Bible and the Gospel, which may make me xenophobic. I don’t “hate” homosexuals, transgenders, women who’ve had abortions, or those who have committed any other kind of sin, I hate their behavior – their sin. I want to see them truly saved by the blood of Christ, and using their prior lifestyle as a testimony on how Jesus Christ redeemed them.
Redeemed – a wonderful word. When one is saved, they repent of their sin. When one repents, they turn away from their sin – and they are redeemed.
When a woman confesses that they aborted their child, and that they are truly repentant, they are forgiven, and they’ll meet that child in Heaven one day. What a testimony for others in the same predicament!
I may not like your behavior, but I want to love you into Heaven, I don’t want to hate you into Hell.
So, call me what you want, but as the shepherd of the #Heb10 Church, I will not permit you to attack the sheep. I have sheepdogs that will take you down, if I don’t do it myself.
I would rather see you as truly repentant and truly saved, than coming against the church. Please know that we’re ready to go to prison, be persecuted or even lose our lives, for Christ.
